Constellation Bookkeeping Services strives to connect all the moving parts of your financial transactions and processes. We recognize just how important it is to create an effective financial framework for a successful organization.
Locally owned and operated, Mike Rowan began his career performing peripheral bookkeeping and payroll activities. Shortly after obtaining his associate’s degree Mike was offered a senior position with a municipality in Nunavut. From 2011-2018 Mike worked with various organizations throughout the territory as a Senior Financial Manager, performing internal audits and adjustments regularly.
After returning to Saskatchewan, Mike saw a hole in the market for affordable and experienced local bookkeepers. Thus, Constellation Bookkeeping was born. With over 15 years of bookkeeping experience, Mike is dedicated to providing accurate, affordable and accommodating financial solutions to small businesses and sole proprietors in Southern Saskatchewan and the Territories.

Bookkeeping
Running a business is a full-time job. With so many tasks on your plate already, leave balancing the books up to us. We provide accurate and up-to-date bookkeeping services to assist you in managing your books efficiently.
We’ll collect your expense receipts and sales ledger then record all financial transactions made by your business to deliver your general ledger, accounts payable and receivable, bank reconciliation and more.
Budget Preparation
Let’s sit down and discuss budget preparation.
- Budgeting: Once we have an understanding of your monthly income and expenses, we can manage your business better by creating a detailed budgeting plan.
- Capital Planning: Using a strategic planning process we’ll map out your business’s long-term financial goals for the future.
Financial Reporting
Get a bird’s-eye view of your business with your monthly financial statements. We’ll prepare your monthly balance sheet, income statement, cash flow statement and statement of shareholders’ equity.
Once completed, we’ll walk you through each statement providing you with a thorough financial analysis to determine current and future profitability and risks. You’ll feel confident knowing that you’re making the best evidence-based decisions for your business.
Payroll
We provide convenient payroll services for small businesses on a regular basis. Once we’ve tracked hours worked, we then calculate each employees pay and distribute accordingly. Payroll can be disbursed in the form of cheques or direct deposits.
Whether you prefer weekly, bi-weekly or monthly payroll calculations, we’ll ensure that every member of your organization is getting paid on time with the proper payroll remittances.

Accounts Payable and Receivable
Accounts payable and accounts receivable are essential bookkeeping practices that will be listed on your monthly balance sheet. They will provide you with a snapshot of your current assets (accounts receivable) and current liabilities (accounts payable) so you can better interpret your financial standing.

The Client hereby agrees to compensate the Bookkeeper at the following rates for services rendered.
Please note that these are Saskatchewan rates. Out-of-scope work can be done by agreement.

What bookkeeping software do you use?
We currently use the following software to perform our bookkeeping services:
- Sage 50
- Sage 50cloud
- QuickBooks Desktop
- QuickBooks Online
- AccountEdge
- Can work with Sage 300 (extensive history)
- We have limited past work with Sage BusinessVision and Yardi Voyager 7S
With QuickBooks Online and Sage 50cloud, you can obtain direct access to your books through a subscription fee that will be billable to you each month.
If you’re not interested in doing the day-to-day data-entry aspects of the former, AccountEdge may be the better option for you. We’ll work with you in a more traditional capacity to produce customary monthly reports such as Profit & Loss, Balance Sheets, Receivables listings & more. There are no user-end fees associated with this option.
If you have specific software in mind, let us know! We’re more than happy to accommodate the current software that you’re using.
How is the work performed?
Our work is performed using a traditional setup. Once a month you’ll bring in your expense receipts and sales ledger. We’ll then process it and email, mail, or hold the physical documents in the office for pickup.
If you’re a client in a remote or rural area, you’ll find that using email or the cloud would be the most convenient approach.
What certifications do you have?
Owner Mike Rowan has an associate’s degree in accounting. He has completed complex administrative functions and payroll for nine years. In addition, he has performed full-cycle accounting functions for businesses and organizations with revenue margins ranging from five thousand dollars to nine million dollars.
